What Decatur & Tucker Moms Say About Our Generations Classes:

"I literally cried when one of the residents came to hug me and thank me for sharing M., who'd spent 5 minutes holding her hand. This class is more than music." - Lotte, Tucker Mom

“We loved the Generations class with Music Together of Decatur. My children enjoyed interacting with the seniors through music and the seniors absolutely loved seeing the children. Some residents got to know the children well and would have them sit on their laps during the class. Some days, some senior residents came to the class looking tired and sad. But once the class started and they heard the music and saw the children singing and dancing, they just lit up. They were smiling, clapping their hands, and having fun! Some were even dancing! Children and seniors are so good for each other and this class is unique in that it truly melds their spirits together through the gift of music.” - Haley, Decatur Mom

“I really enjoyed watching my kids (2 years old and 6 weeks old) grow more comfortable with our ‘grand-friends’ each week and the seniors’ presence and participation gave a special energy to our classes. Ms.Kenya is great at finding ways to help the babies and grand-friends interact while singing and making music and I know that everyone in the room appreciated the multi-generational community that we created each week. One of my favorite moments was the first time my 2 year-old overcame her shyness to pass out instruments to our grand-friends. They made her feel so proud to be helping!” - Ashley, Avondale Mom

“We sang, played, danced, and got loved on by some beautiful souls. My boy asked as soon as we left when he got to come sing with the ‘Grandmas’ again.” - Sarah, Decatur Mom
